Hanging winter wreaths is such an exciting time of the season. It ushers in cooler weather, brings the promise of a snowman, helps Santa find your house and even means it's time for hot chocolate and movies.
Winter may not be your favorite time of the year, or mine, but there's just something about putting up that Christmas colored wreath.
Your location may or may not have cold temperatures. With a southern temperature range, our winters are not too overbearingly cold. We don't get snow very often. As a matter of fact, it stays fairly warm through the end of December.
Sunshine during the day and warms it up really nice. Our nights do get kinda chilly! With a morning temperature of 23, it is beginning to look and feel a lot like Christmas.
When you are searching for a winter wreath, what are you looking for as the base? A live or artificial one? A greenery wreath? A deco mesh wreath? The base or wreath form is the first layer of the wreath.
It can be made with real grapevines, metal or even a garland. With so many layers you can add, the base or form is the beginning of the build.
Take the base and think about what kind of decorating accessories you would like to have on it. There are so many different things you can get on it. It's your wreath, so let's build it the way you want it.
How about putting a snowman on it, a sign, a cross, a candy cane, an owl or even a nutcracker. You decide.
What colors do you want on your winter wreath? Gold, red, green, silver, orange, brown, blue, white...many options with the colors!
Once you have the decision made as to the base, the colors and the accessories, we are ready to begin.
Now, you can get it with lights or without lights. The lights we add are battery powered and can be turned off or on.
Here is one with the lights on it PLUS it is a Christmas wreath.
As you can see, the lights bring even more life to your winter wreath. I love the look of that soft, yet elegant addition. It also can be seen from a farther distance. If your home is far back from the road, it will be seen by drive by commuters.
It is beginning to look a lot like winter and Christmas at my house. Even though the day temperature is in the mid 40's, the spirit of the holiday is in the air! I love this!
